The Beachouse is a 4 minute walk from the beach and a 2 minute walk from Montalivet\u2019s huge everyday market selling everything from Mexican hammocks to foie gras.<\/p>\n
Montalivet, retains an old fashioned, small scale seaside atmosphere and is extremely popular with the young due to its slightly “hippy” market and its relaxed surfing image. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
-Safe bathing (only allowed between the two blue flags and strictly monitored by a team of lifeguards) and a high street pedestrianised every morning and evening mean you can relax in your deckchair knowing your children are safe.<\/p>\n
-A supervised tree adventure walk in the forest is within walking distance as well as as riding, bike and quad hire, go karting , parachuting and paintball.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
-A lively pub scene for young people with four nightclubs (one with an indoor swimming school) are all within walking distance or a short bike ride.<\/p>\n
-There are visiting circuses and entertainments all summer.<\/p>\n
-Ideal for independent children and teenagers who like to do their own thing from time to time.

The house itself is adorable and so beautifully decorated, yet feels immensely homely. Our three year old loved the little farm animals and the sandpit and playing with the hose!! You were so kind to her and she was so chuffed that you gave her responsibility of feeding your doves every morning- a lovely touch. In terms of highlights and recommen dations, its hard to know where to begin. But for starters, we loved pur trips to Pilat (the giant sand dune about 90 mins away but we thought it was well worth the trip), Arcarchon, Soulac and Bordeaux (especially the Miroir d’Eau). We also enjoyed wine tasting and recommend Chateau La Tour de By \u2013 they made us really welcome….we also liked Port de St Vivien ..a nice little waterside restaurant with tapas. I haven’t forgotten that I also promised to send you a copy of my recent children’s piture book, Max the Champion, for children visiting the flat.\u201d lots of love Alex, Dan and Ella.<\/p>\n

Clearly your lovely house has left a deep and lasting impression which he resolutely clings to despite And for that matter.. <\/p>\n
It has inspired me deeply too. <\/p>\n

Thanks again for a fabulous stay, its been brilliant! ..attached are a couple of usable photos of Xanthe from our day at the pool…..we took the West Flat with our 2 year old daughter and had a fantastic 2 week stay in September 2010… Yes the house is very relaxed in a shabby chic kind of way but it is extremely well kitted out, from the kitchen equipment..as well as the full seclection of books and DVDs…. Daily rides to the local beach\/park\/Aldi. We’d also recommend Le Canoe restaurant in Port Goulee for great lunch and kids corner of toys plus swings outside to keep them busy. The beach at Montalivet was the best that we tried on the peninsula (compared to Pin Sec. Le Gurp, Pointe de la Negade and Soulac) with lifeguard swimming area, good surf and rock \u201cbeach balustrades\u201d which protect you from the breeze and provide a place for high tide pools to form for younger kids to splash about in.<\/p>\n
